PORT for 2 stroke engine.
Share
Many early two-stroke engine ports opened at an angle,
or the exhaust port was sometimes split into two separate openings.
It was likely that concerns also arose about piston rings and piston skirts entering the ports, as seen in triple-cylinder engines.
Considering the significant force applied perpendicular to the crankshaft's direction, this was a natural design choice.
Adding a bridge is not just a temporary fix but a fundamental necessity for the two-stroke mechanism.
Since a complete solution has already been proposed for triple-cylinder engines, there is no reason not to adopt it.
That solution is the bridged port technology by ICBM®.
