Plateau Honing process
We hone the ultra-hard plated inner diameter using diamond grinding stones, as regular grinding stones are ineffective. This process creates deep oil grooves that serve as oil reservoirs.
After that, we use an extremely fine grinding stone to smoothly finish the plateau areas where the piston and rings slide. When measuring only this area, the smoothness is ten times finer than that of standard honing.
